How to use Blackra1n?

Step 1: Update iTunes to the latest version available and reboot your computer.

Step 2: Download BlackRa1n from our iPhone downloads page and install it, then reboot your PC (note that rebooting is not necessary but I always do this as a precaution).

Step 3: Plug your iPhone to your computer and launch BlackRa1n. Click on “make it ra1n”.

Step 4: Your iPhone will now enter recovery mode. The regular recovery mode image on your iPhone will be replaced by a picture of GeoHot.

Step 5: BlackRa1n will run on your iPhone and then it will reboot.

Step 6: Once your iPhone reboots, you will notice a new icon on your springboard. This is BlackRa1n. Now make sure you have internet connection and launch BlackRa1n on your iPhone.

Step 7: Choose what installer applications you want to install on your iPhone and then tap “Install”. I suggest only installing Cydia but you may install them all if you want to.

BlackRa1n will download and install the selected applications.

Step 8: Once done installing, your iPhone will respring and you should see your installer app on your springboard.

Step 9: Once your installer app (Cydia in our case) is installed. You can safely uninstall BlackRa1n by launching the app and selecting “uninstall balckra1n”.

Step 10: Reboot your iPhone. You’re done!

Congratulations! Your iPhone is now unlocked & jailbroken.

Finally there's a way to unlock your upgraded baseband 5.11.07 iPhones (3g, 3gs & 2g). Its blakra1n & its been around for awhile.It can unlock iPod touches(1g &2g)too. Just log onto http://blackra1n.com/ & download your version. It's a piece of cake & is going to take just a few seconds.

Hey everybody, It's been a long time I posted something. Perhaps, I had lost my interest in blogging. But now I guess it's back. So, to start with I want to say that the OS 3.0 for the iPhone & iTouch is completely awesome(if you haven't paid $10 for it :P). There are still some issues with the jailbreaking part, but I guess they are going to be addressed soon. I've got my exams coming up, barely 10 days left. So, I'll have to keep my blogging instincts under the rock again :(. I've got some good news too, I cleared the JSTSE (junior science talent search examination) & got an AIR 16 :D. The first round, which was a written examination, was comparitively tough to the interview. Probably because the interviewers had a filling lunch & were in good mood before they took my interview :P. I'll be getting around Rs.3000 as a scholarship(It's not a lot, but considering it's from the government...). So, thats all for now, will be back after the exams with some more news.
